SRW Hotnews has posted HQ scans for last week’s Famitsu, which unveiled more info about G Generation Wars gameplay: Combination Attacks, Support Attack and Support Defense. It’s becoming more and more like SRW games, which is not a bad thing IMO. The release date is set to August 6th.
Also, Play-Asia has opened up pre-orders for both Wii and PS2 versions. Pre-orders come with a Player’s Bible, a guidebook with description of the participant series, as well as other extra stuff. Although there isn’t a guarantee everyone gets one of those >.<
Combination Attacks
The scans show off great screenshots of several attacks: Moonlight Butterfly (Turn A and Turn X), Jet Stream Attack (Dom Troopers from SEED Destiny), the SEED druggies combination and Trinity’s docking attack from 00 1st Season. It seems a few combinations are exclusive for enemy units.
Support Defense
Just like recent SRW games, a unit takes hit in place of one being attacked. It’s suggested to place a unit with high HP or special defensive capabilites (against physical attacks or beam) as your team’s supportive role, and it’ll increase the team’s survivability. The scans show Sazabi defending Jagd Doga, and Dynames being spanked by a GN-X while defending Virtue… wasn’t is supposed to be the opposite, Virtue being the bulkiest and having GN Field?
Support Attack (Cover)
Unlike SRW, where only one unit supports the attacker, here the attacking unit is supported by another unit and the battleship. It seems to be a mix of Spirits’ system, where you had to choose between the battleship’s support or 7 other units from the team, and this was limited to the leader unit.
