One SRW game a year is not enough, it seems. Just a few months after SRWK’s release and the announcements of Suparobo Gakuen and G-Gene Wars for Wii, Bamco/Banpresto has at it again. A few week’s ago, Famitsu revealed the newest entry on the SRW franchise: Super Robot Taisen NEO for Wii. And a true Super Robot Taisen game, for that matter. The release date is still undefined, though for 2009. The series list and prologue follows after the break. Here’s the cast list (new series in bold):

  • Mazinger Z
  • Great Mazinger
  • Jushin Liger
  • New Getter Robo
  • GoShogun
  • NG Knight Lamune & 40
  • Braiger

  • Go-Saurer
  • Daiteioh
  • Iron Leaguer

Also, SRWNeo’s official site is open, with the prologue and the series’ description and screenshots.

Prologue

There were many wars in this “Century of Wars”…

Throughout this, mankind succeeded in obtaining energy revolution through many means, bringing near the opportunity of launching an organization of Earth unity.

This led into several countries settling matters peacefully, bringing mankind to celebrate a new age called “Future Century”. However, even though there no more wars between the continents, in no means it was the end of wars for society…

F.C.57, the mad scientist Dr. Hell’s “Hell War” outbreak was finished in 2 years by the participation of justice’s Super Robot Mazinger Z.

Soon after Hell War’s end, in F.C.59, another invader called “Micenae Empire” started an invasion at Earth’s surface. Coordinating their moves with Micenae Empire, there were the world mafia organization Tokuga and Nubia Connection. However, their ambitions were brought to an end by a team of Super Robots of justice.

F.C.60, the “Devil Gundam” incident took part at the countries’ Gundam Fights, but by surpassing the continents’ limits, the alliance formed by Gundam Fighters brought it to an end.

Currently, F.C.61… Earth enjoys its peaceful days while not knowing an unseen risk is about to come…

By the prologue, it’s clear that several series will have their storylines finished: Mazinger Z/Great Mazinger, Braiger, Goshogun and G Gundam, giving enough space for the many newcomers like Liger and the Eldoran series.
