Play-Asia’s package finally arrived yesterday containing SRWK (bought from a few weeks ago’s special offer) and a few other Wii games in sale (Captain Rainbow and Zack and Wiki).

You know you’re late for playing a game when GameFAQs forum heats down. Afterall, it was released in March, and by now all the secrets are confirmed. And Mark Neidengard’s Story Guide is already at the 14-ish stage. Awesome work there!

Anyway, since I don’t have even half of his talent or language skills, I’ll try my take on playing this game: just a quick strategy on how I’d do things, along with a few story tidbits on a post. Read on for more on new game setup: Favorites System and W Slot Feature.

Favorites System

Choose 3 series from the list that will earn these bonus:

  • additional upgrade slots
  • earn extra money
  • earn extra experience

Each of the series, however, has different multipliers for the bonus, according to the number of units the series has overall. I’ll list the number in this format: Series name [multiplier]. The multiplier applies to both earned money and experience. The upgrade slots are 15 for all series.

  • Original [1.4]
  • Gun X Sword [1.35]
  • Godannar [1.25]
  • Dangaioh [1.5]
  • Gaiking [1.2]
  • Jeeg [1.3]
  • Mazinger Z [1.4]
  • Zoid Genesis [1.15]
  • Virtual-on Marz [1.4]
  • Fafner [1.25]
  • King Gainer [1.15]
  • Gundam SEED [1.1]

My selections, which seem pretty random:

  • Original: since I have no idea what’s to come, I’ll stick to the one I’m sure to have available for the whole game
  • Dangaioh: it’s the only series with 1.5 bonus which probably means it’s the only unit of the whole series
  • Virtual-on Marz: the 2nd highest bonus aside from the Original

W Slot Feature

Just like SRWW, you earn bonus part and money for having the previous GBA games in the Slot B of your DS. You’ll gain the bonus at the intermission screen. Even if you don’t have the games, the parts can be bought from the shop after the 1st playthrough in a progressive manner (2nd playthrough has EG Armor, 3rd playthough unlocks Time Flow Engine and so on). Also, you can only have 1 part of each, be it from a slot bonus or bought from the shop.

Caution: this bonus is not available for the DSi (since it does not have a Slot B).
