The game is due to launch at the August 27th, but since this is the interwebs, it seems it’s out somewhere yet again. Most (if not all) of the info here comes from either GameFAQs forum or the Japanese Wiki for the game.

  • The game uses a system similar to the VS battle from XBox 360′s SRW XO.
  • There are no series specific BGM: no openings songs, no remixes, no ripped songs (as of yet).
  • Lots of units for K series (even enemy bosses), but mostly main character units from W, J or D.
  • Double slot feature gives parts and coins: so far, J’s known to give a part named Heroine Trio.

Read more for info on starting units and a summary of how the battle goes.

After 3 weeks of gameplay, I’m at 51% of unit profile completion due to time issues. Here’s the rundown of my playthrough, read more for more details:

  • enter the Mobile Dolls at Gundam W’s scenario, and they’re much tougher than Cloudas as expected
  • finally got W Gundam Zero and Exia Repair II, now to wait for Raiser System OP
  • interrupted W to play OO’s scenario until finale
  • my next scout link: Shinn Asuka

Finally some new info on SRW Neo! This time the scans from SRW Hotnews reveal the Banpresto Originals. Updated with new system info from complete scan. All non-Japanese name spellings are guesses:

  • The main character is Kakeru Inaba, a 17 year old high school student who lives alone with his younger brother due to his parents being out abroad all the time. He accidentally becomes the pilot of Sigzall (spelling?), a robot from another world.
  • Amane Inaba is Kakeru’s younger brother (yes, brother!), a boy concerned about his girly appearance. He becomes the core of Sigzall’s mothership Ionia.
  • Sharlie Lunoille (Shal) is a 19 year old girl who researches archeology with her elder brother at the outer world. She rides the Mervelle to aid her research and is capable of raiding the rival corporation Ernst’s fortress on her own.
  • Chaos Rail is the leader of Archeology Research Organization Ernst, a 346 year old woman who wants to protect the world from invaders.
  • Rivalis Muilove is the captain of Ernst’s combat forces, a 21 years old man who is capable of sacrificing himself for Chaos.
  • Breakthrough Attack (Toppa Kougeki): an attack type similar to a Map Attack, which can target enemy units without wounding ally units, during a unit’s movement. The scan shows Domon performing a Chokyuu Haoh Den’eidan.
  • Push (Oshidashi) system: a weapon with the Push ability can push enemies around the map when hit. The Push is level based, sending the opponent further when higher the level.
  • Additional damage from pushing: a target gets additional damage from push if it falls from high grounds (fall damage, 2000), hits another unit (crash damage, 1000) or hits an obstacle like a building, wall or even the map edge (pressure damage, 1000)

The folks at the Wars’ Japanese wiki and GameFAQs unveiled some calculations made to predict the Unit Exchange choices. I’ve compiled my own list at the Exchange table, based on the published math and units I had available, thus making the old table kinda useless.

Anyway, here’s a rundown of my playthrough this week, read more for more details:

  • Option Parts: Additional Hangars! Just what I needed! Time to buy a Ptolomeus
  • Gundam X’s finale is quite tough for a no-grinding game because of Cloudas and GN-Xs
  • Next scout link: Amuro (0079), and One Year War warships are made available
  • A few more 1st stages: Zeta, F91 and SEED Destiny

I’ve taken some time to update the Unit Exchanges table using some spreadsheets tricks to fill in the prices of units “automatically”. Don’t mind if you see a “New Price” column a few times, it means I’m in progress to update it. I’ve missed a few prices as well, sorry about that.

Quick notes about this playthrough, read more for more details:

  • First Gundam’s finale: Char was tricked and got the “incomplete” Zeong, while some random grunt got the Great version to himself… poor Char
  • Heero, I choose you!
  • I thought a new Master Character would unlock more battleships… I was so wrong…
  • Exia + Gundam = O Gundam, Exia + O Gundam = OO Gundam

The game is officially out this week and people already finished it, the amount of people’s free time is quite impressive! Unlike them, I’m going slowly through a few stages per night as time allows me, hence I’ve only got a few cleared stages and units so far.

I’ve compiled a table for the Unit Exchanges available that I had the chance to note down. Read more for this week’s playthrough details.

So I couldn’t resist myself to the wait and was dragged to the dark side of the force… and I must say this game is awesome as it looks! Here are a few snippets of my playthrough so far:

  • Setsuna, I choose you!
  • Starting from the beginning… Origin Generation, One Year War, Atmosphere Reentry.
  • Team setup: Setsuna in Exia (basic), Ellis in Phoenix Zero, Mark in another Exia (basic), Ranarow and Niki in Tornado Gundams
  • The transition animations are very smooth, units don’t stand still while defending/evading/being damaged by beam shots
  • Unaccountable cut-in amount! I’ve seen different cut-ins for the same GN Sword animation for Mark, and even Dren (Char’s ship captain) has cut-ins.
  • Wars Breaks are as described, didn’t add much to the difficulty… yet.
  • Enemy units have a score point that adds to your overall (Un-Haro-ed) score meter, and Overkills multiply those (a x2 Overkill gives 1.2 multiplier bonus)
  • Guest units and characters don’t have EXP, so there’s no more S-Ranking a Guest unit to get it into creation list.
  • Units captured: Zakus and GINNs (yep, Creuset brings a few of them inside his Vesalius).
  • Setsuna’s Super Strike BGM is FIGHT.
  • A surprise (?) Option Part unlocked to the shopping list after the stage clear.

It seems someone came back from the future with the game on hands, and SRW Hotnews once again found some shared pics of the Master Characters and their respective unit data. Jokes aside, I’ve compiled them up at a few pages below:
